Applicant protections

What a real solar job never asks you to do.

Recruitment scams in the solar space are common. Use this list to sanity-check any offer — including anything that comes out of this application.

✕ Never sign for a company you don't own

No legitimate employer will ask a U.S. hire to open bank accounts, sign as an “authorized signer”, or be listed as an LLC officer for a company they don't actually own or work for. That arrangement is bank fraud under 18 U.S.C. § 1344.

✕ Never pay to work

You should never pay for “training”, “equipment deposits”, cryptocurrency, or gift cards to start a job. If asked, walk away and report it to the FTC.

✕ Never interview only over chat

A real hiring process includes a phone or video call with a person who gives you the employer's legal name, EIN or state entity number, and a written offer letter you can verify with the Secretary of State.

✓ Do verify the employer

Before your first day, look up the employer on the state Secretary of State business search (e.g. California SOS). Confirm the entity is Active and matches the name on your offer.

FAQ

Straight answers.

Which company am I actually applying to?

You're applying to Mia A Palmer, an independent recruiter — not directly to a specific solar company. If your profile fits, Mia sends a written brief naming the actual employer, their state entity number, and the specific role before any interview is scheduled. You can verify the employer independently on the state's Secretary of State business search before you agree to talk.

Who is Mia A Palmer?

Mia A Palmer is an independent solar recruiter based in Dadeville, Missouri, placing U.S. field crews on residential and commercial solar projects. Mia is not affiliated with NextEra Energy, Enphase Energy, SunPower, or any other named solar brand. Contact: +1 646 210 6948.

Is this W-2 or 1099?

Project manager roles are W-2. Sales roles vary by employer — some are W-2 with base plus commission, others are 1099 with commission-only or draw structures. The role brief will say clearly which one applies.

Do I need solar experience?

Not always. Sales rep openings often take strong candidates from door-to-door, home services, telecom, insurance, or automotive sales. Project manager openings do expect relevant field experience — typically 2+ years in solar, roofing, electrical, or a related trade.

Where are the jobs located?

Most openings are in California, Texas, Arizona, Florida, and the Northeast, but we hire across the continental U.S. You'll tell us your state on the form and we'll only send you role briefs that match.

How is my data handled?

Your information is used only to evaluate this application and to send you a written role brief. It is not sold, not published, and not shared with third parties outside the hiring flow. You can request deletion at any time by replying to any email from us.

What if a recruiter asks me for money or bank info upfront?

Do not send money, cryptocurrency, gift cards, or bank credentials to anyone during the hiring process — including anyone claiming to be from this page. Legitimate employers pay you, not the other way around. If this happens, walk away and report it to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
